Trainee Instructor (Year Out)

Every September FACT welcomes a new team of year-out staff, who are eager to live in Christian community and share their faith by serving our guests – we are looking for five trainee instructors to join our team.

Role:

Trainee Instructor (Year Out)

Application deadline:

30th April 2024

Typically this exciting post is filled by students either before or after a degree, but is open to anyone who wants to share their faith whilst living in a faith-based community and serving a Christian charity.

Full training is provided during the year, with lots of opportunity to develop a whole range of skills for life – it is a life changing year.

We ideally need sailors with an RYA advanced module equivalent to get you started, and there will be plenty of opportunity to gather more training experience and qualifications through the year. While the focus will be sailing tuition there will be a dose of boat repairs and equipment care. The climbing wall, high ropes, kayaking, archery and team building games all need lots of enthusiastic leaders and also ideas for development. You’ll have accommodation onboard Trinity and a weekly allowance – and it will be the experience of a lifetime. Your Christian faith will have plenty of scope for exercise and development too.

This role is subject to a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) that the successful applicant is a Christian; satisfactory references and an Enhanced DBS Check and; the right to work in the UK. Overseas applicants are welcome to apply through Time for God or, if a German national, through GVS

The first round of interviews will be held in early Autumn 2023, but we accept applications throughout the year.
