Comedy & Magic Night with John Archer

John Archer - Letterhead style

Over 120 individuals including; Fellowship Afloat friends, supporters and volunteers, along with members of the public and local community gathered to enjoy entertainment from John Archer, well-known comedian and previous winner of the Magic Circle’s Stage Magician of the Year, with SALT comedy troupe to support.

SALT comedy troupe warmed up the audience and brought roars of laughter to the room with clever quips, sketches and musical comedy highlighting current issues with light hearted humour.

John Archer left the audience in hysterics with his gags, with some still asking “What happened to the balloon?!” weeks after the event. He dazzled with his charisma and perplexed all with card tricks, audience led routines and mind boggling mental maths.

Members of the audience left the venue raving about the night and reliving the highlights; with comments such as;

“I haven’t laughed that much at a comedy act, ever!”

“A great night”

“Great fun – nice to have a fun evening of good clean humour”

The event, although great fun, did hold deeper significance for Fellowship Afloat – as all proceeds from the night, including ticket, bar and raffle sales went towards supporting the incredibly important work of FACT. The Bursary Fund disburses around £10,000 a year, to support hundreds of individuals, ranging from young people in need, to those with disabilities as well as groups to have a ‘big red ship experience’ who otherwise wouldn’t have been able to.

 Fellowship Afloat sends out a big thanks to John Archer & SALT comedy troupe, the audience and all those who supported the event – not only did you raise the laughter, but also helped raise almost £2,500 for their incredibly important Bursary Fund.  For more information about the work of Fellowship Afloat do browse the website (www.fact.org.uk) or contact the office on 01621 868 113.
