A theology of the Splat

And, what is the Splat? It's the sort of splatty bit in FACT's logo. David Hillyer wonders whether it was what was left behind by the tern, FACT's former logo, when it was 'retired'. Well, really!

Of course, you've guessed that it's a visual reference to Trinity, a former light vessel whose job was to show the way to mariners. Now that she's FACT's residential centre, we like to think that, though her sea-going days are long gone, she has a new life with a similar, perhaps more important, objective.

In a post-Christian, post-modern, post-secular and post-almost-everything-else age, a steady reference-point for life is welcome. Jesus Christ said he was the Light of the World and he is the person who informs and inspires FACT today.

He invites us to see ourselves and our motives in a new light; to take a change in direction, setting a course towards him, and to receive his love, forgiveness and empowering.

Exciting stuff! So, that's that, and the FACT Splat could remind you of all that whenever you see it.
