These intensive and demanding weekends are aimed particularly at dinghy instructors and club sailors who are involved in providing safety and rescue cover, and assisting in race management for inexperienced and experienced sailors at centres and clubs. The course will take the form of practical sessions afloat and shore-based exercises dealing with situations such as the rescue of inverted dinghies, personnel in the water, exhausted windsurfers, craft on lee-shores, and canoes in difficulty etc. This course requires individuals to be completely familiar with the handling of both planing and displacement craft, as close quarter work and position is important in the rescues performed.
